Located about 1 mile west of
Poipu, Palama Buoy marks the pinnacle where the Pele (a 1800's
Freighter ) went aground. The resting place is called
General Store and is a great
dive site. This photo was taken by Max Anderson (and is
copywrited by him, so no using them ok!!). The chain you see
is what anchors the buoy and the area around the block is kept
clean by the chain working its way in a 360 degree circle. |
